I'm turning 38 and so are my shipping prices at Fresh Lemon Blossoms! For today only, each item will ship for only 38 cents!!!

The boring small print:

meet Snips

She's about 3 months old and the newest addition to our family! My sister works at a Vet and they were trying to find a home for her. Nobody took her in, so my sister (who has the biggest heart ever) took her home. Mind you my sis already has 4 cats, 2 dogs, 2 goats & 3 ducks. She couldn't not give her a home and thought she might eventually find one for her. When we found out, K & I talked about it and surprised T with her.

These aren't the best photos of her because she's so full of energy that's she doesn't sit still!

It took less than a day for Pip & her to get along and now these days Pip is grumpy at her for playing on his head. T is taking very good care of her all by himself and she follows him everywhere. When he isn't home she even cries for him because she can't find him. It's very sweet!

She got her name from a character in Star Wars...very fitting for us! Snips is the nickname that Anakin gave his padwan, Asoka in the movie Clone Wars. Asoka was being snippy with Anakin, so he started calling her Snips. It fits our Snips perfectly because she's a feisty little thing!

I'm sure I'll have more photos soon. Maybe I can get some when she's sleeping because she really doesn't sit still for a moment!

Hope you have a wonderful Father's Day weekend! We're planning on hanging out with yummy food & watch the race. K's going to bbq some linguicia, YUM!

more Disneyland

I'm finally getting around to posting more pictures from our Disneyland trip. We had a busy weekend going to the Graffiti Car Show, went out for a birthday dinner for my brother-in-law and then yesterday we added a new family member to our home. We have a kitten now! I've been trying to get some photos of her but she's too fast for me. I'll try again in a bit. No worries though....I'm sure my blog will be filled with lots of cute i can has cheezburger moments, LOL!

How about some more Disney?

Another new attraction was Pixie Hollow which is where you can visit Tinkerbell and her friends. Having a boy, I can say that I don't know much about Tinkerbell let alone her friends. Apparently she has movies out now? I made K & T suffer through it though because I wanted to check it out. It was so cute walking through since it was all decorated pixie style with little houses and bitty (but real) flowers.

Wouldn't it be fun to have a Pixie Hollow in your own backyard? While waiting in line to see Tinkerbell, I also spotted a hidden Mickey under the waterfall.

T was able to add Tinkerbell & Fawn to his signature collection but I really did have to make him go. He really didn't want to go in but how can you pass up Tinkerbells signature? We have never seen her around in all our trips to Disneyland so yes, I made him do it! :)

Another fun thing about going this time of year was all the baby ducks that were around. The mamas and babies had not a care in the world that all these people were around and they just walked right through. How fun would it be to be a Disneyland duck?

One of our favorite junk food places is Pooh Corner. We loved the big cookies they have! One time when we went in they were making the adorable Mickey Mouse Apples.

I never did get one since there are so many yummy snacks to choose from...but they are top on my list next visit. Aren't those jelly belly buttons the cutest!

T was so excited to finally be able to drive the cars himself! K & I went together and in front of his so we could snap some photos.

It only took a few minutes before I was complaining that the gas pedal was really stiff & hard to hold down. T was doing a good job until about 3/4 of the way through. We kept going since we though he would just be behind us a bit. And he came around the corner with a passenger!

The friendly Cast Member saw that T was struggling, so he hopped in and held the gas pedal down for him the rest of the way. We were all laughing about it but we thanked him for helping T out.

T's favorite ride is Thunder Mountain RR and he said his goal was to beat his record and ride it more than 6 times. He had a goal of 8 just to make sure he really did beat it.

It was our last night there and we had fast passed it. So for our last ride of the trip, we headed over at about 30 minutes to closing. And they had just shut it down! T was so bummed out but he insisted that they had time to re-open it still. So we waited and watched them walk people down off the ride (it shut down in the middle of people riding it) while the last 30 minutes ticked down. All he talked about was wanting to beat his record and how bummed he was...it was a long wait. I really didn't think they would open it back up in time. And then with 5, yes FIVE minutes left they opened the ride back up! His persistence paid off and we rode it one last time! He was so excited when we met back up with K!

Here's a few more random shots.

And just like that our trip was over. I can't believe I thought that 4 days would be too many. It was so nice to just take our time enjoying the rides, the food and all the little nooks & crannies of Disneyland. None of us were ready to come home and we're already looking forward to the next trip. Who knows when that will be, but I know it won't be soon enough!

p.s. hopefully my next post will have cute kitty photos. :)

Disneyland Trip

I've been busy creating new goodies this past week and I am just now getting around to posting some Disneyland photos. I'll probably post them over a few days because there's lots of fun ones (and I always talk to much, LOL!).

We drove down on Memorial Day and the drive was smooth sailing! We listened to Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince so it made the 5 1/2 hour drive at least interesting.

We knew Memorial Day was going to be packed, so spent the half day at CA Adventures. Our first stop was the new Toy Story ride which was AWESOME! It was the longest wait we had all week, so we only waited in line twice but I wish we could have gone more. It was so much fun playing the 3-D games! The 3-D was amazing and when we were done all of us had sore arms from playing so hard. I learned my lesson and took it a bit easier the second time, LOL!

Then we headed over to Soaring over California, which is a favorite of ours. Thank goodness for fast passes because the line is always horrible for this one! We took a few photos while waiting to get on.
Since it was pretty crowded, we just wandered around and took our time visiting the non-ride attractions. We stopped at our favorite place on the wharf to grab dinner & beer. They serve super yummy soup in freshly made bread bowls. Wish I had a bowl right now!

Tuesday morning we were up & in Disneyland first thing! We headed over to our favorite rides which are all in New Orleans, Frontier Land & Adventure Land. For quite a few years our vacations have been in the fall and they change the Haunted Mansion to The Nightmare Before Christmas. It had been a long time since we had ridden the "original" ride and T couldn't even remember it. We were were so excited to ride the original again that we rode it at least 5 times!

Something weird/cool happened to T & I while riding Space Mountain...it shut down while we were on the ride! We had gone through the whole space part of it and just came out into the tunnel where they snap your photo. It took our photo and our rocketship just stopped dead. Then an announcement came on telling us to stay seated, the ride was shutting down and someone was coming to get us out. I totally thought it was totally cool but T was a tad freaked out about what was going to happen! Then all the lights came on and we could see that we weren't very far from the ground, so he started feeling better. There were 2 other ships in the tunnel with us and everyone started whopping it up & taking photos! And guess who I had just left the camera with while we went on the ride? Yup, I had no camera. So after a bit the cast members finally came around and helped everyone jump from their ships. We got to walk out the last little bit and into the boarding area. We ran back out to K & couldn't wait to tell him what happened!

It turned out that a lot of rides were off & on during the week and we almost had another close call on the Matterhorn. It shut down right when we were queued up to get on. We waited that one out so we could watch all the craziness and then us crazys got on for our ride.

We prefer to hit the rides while everyone is waiting for the fireworks but we took a moment in between to watch one evening. I'm pretty amazed at the shots K got while using our new little camera.

Here's a few more random ones from the week:

We had such a fun trip and nobody wanted to come home! I'll be back over the next few days to post more. Hope you had a great Wednesday!

I'm back!

Back from Disneyland!!

We took all of last week and spent it in much cooler Southern California at Disneyland. The three of us had an awesome time and even after 3 -1/2 days in the parks, we didn't want to come home. T wanted to keep riding Thunder Mountain Railroad, K wanted to keep eating churros (although he didn't eat as many as in the past) and I wanted to keep trying to beat K's score on Buzzlightyear!

Pictures are still on the laptop, so I'll share some when then get moved over to my computer. We have a bajillion photos from our trips over the years, so not too many this time. I think we took less than 200 on this trip, LOL!

Today is June 1st...can you believe it's June already? Today is the 6 month anniversary of opening Fresh Lemon Blossoms. I am so thankful for all the customers who have browsed through my shop over these past months and blessed for all the purchases! It's been a great 6 months, so thank you to anyone who has stopped by my shop and taken a few moments of their busy day to check it out!!

I'm planning to keep plugging along this summer and to include some fresh ideas I have floating around in my head. I would also love to hear of any items that YOU would like to see! I've been getting a few requests, am taking notes & keeping my eyes open for new products to use. So leave a comment here if there is something you would like to see in the future or you can also find me on Twitter & Facebook. I look forward to hearing from you!

Happy Monday all & be back soon with some Disney photos.

schools out...for summer!

T and his friends sang that many times yesterday. They are moving on to 6th grade, which is middle school for them, and I don't think any of us parents are prepared for it!

Yesterday they had their awards assembly and all of the elementary campus said good-bye to the 5th graders. They really only "move" a few buildings over but there's no more kinder buddies and no more recess with them being the oldest. They get to hang out with the bigger kids, they'll switch classes and they are most excited for the snack shack & Science Camp!

T had another great year with his hard work paying off! He received awards for perfect attendance (first time!) and honor roll all 4 quarters. And for the second year in a row he received the Gold President's Education Award!! It's so cool that he has an award and letter signed by our President in recognition of his Outstanding Academic Excellence! We're very proud of him and hope that this keeps him motivated for the upcoming year.

Horrible photo since it was so dark and a bit far away...but here he is receiving his President's Award. He's all the way to the right and has the goofy grin on his face. :)

Then back in class they had some special awards handed out by his teacher. He was thrilled to receive an award for his Rat Trap 1000 invention that he won first place for!

What's up with that hair? I guess I should be happy to have just gotten a photo with no tongue sticking out.

Then just like that...school was out for summer! Deb & I took a few of the kids to a local mini-golf place to let them run around. They had fun eating pizza, playing arcade games, shooting some miniature golf and just hanging out together. It was a fun way to end the school year.

In case you can't tell, I am REALLY looking forward to summer...I think just as much as T is! It will be nice to not have a school schedule for a while along with no homework, reports, speeches, memory verses or tests to study for. It will be nice to just hang out together & chill with friends.

Tomorrow I'm going out for a full day of shopping with my girlfriends and I cannot wait!! It's always fun having a day full of laughing and retail therapy!!

I hope you have a safe & fun holiday weekend!!
